Crochet Pattern - Greta Thunberg Doll
This is a pattern to crochet your very own Greta Thunberg Doll!
This is a super easy crochet pattern for anyone who knows a few basic crochet stitches (you can also download my basic crochet stitch photo tutorial for free if you’re thinking about learning!).
I have listed the sustainable materials I use to make this doll below for anyone wanting to move away from synthetics.
Finished size: Approximately 16.5 cm tall

Eco Materials:
Flesh Pink DK yarn – Rico Ricorumi DK Cotton (25g) – Nude (023)
Azure Blue DK yarn – Sirdar Happy Cotton DK (20g) – Yacht (786)
Black DK yarn - Sirdar Happy Cotton DK (20g) – Liquorice (775)
Brown DK yarn (for the hair) - Sirdar Happy Cotton DK (20g) – Cookie (777)
Lighter brown DK yarn (for the eyebrows) - Sirdar Happy Cotton DK (20g) – Biscuit (776)
A 30cm square of yellow felt (for the jacket) – any yellow 100% wool felt
A small piece of white felt (for eyes) – any white 100% wool felt
Blue, black & white paints – (for the eyes) – Eco Acrylic Paint from Colourcraft
Yellow sewing thread – any cotton thread that matches your yellow wool felt
Glue – Creartec Natural Eco-friendly glue
Stuffing – you can buy wool stuffing which is biodegradable but personally I prefer to use Phoenix Fibres Recycled Polyester Craft Filling, which is made from recycled plastic bottles! I also prefer the feel and overall effect of this stuffing, but wool stuffing will be absolutely fine if you want your Greta to be 100% biodegradable.
I must add that the amounts of paint and glue (and indeed white felt) you will use for the eyes are tiny, so I do think you would be forgiven for using 'normal' ones if you're not going to have further use for the eco versions or simply don't have that kind of budget. You can also use a black marker instead of paint (for the pupils) and a white paint pen (such as the excellent ones made by Posca) for the highlight. Wool felt isn't the cheapest but is definitely lovelier and the cotton yarns are great value and also just that little bit nicer than synthetic ones.
